ABOUT SEVEN BEAUTIES
The ballet “Seven Beauties” was composed in 1952 by famous Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev. The libretto of the ballet is based on motifs of the great Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi’s “Seven Beauties” poem, written in 1197.
The poem shares the story of a young prince Bahram, destined to become the ruler of the world, and his encounters with seven beautiful princesses of different ethnic backgrounds. Bahramneeds the wisdom of these princesses in order to become a worthy king. With its breathtaking plot, dazzling dancing, stunning music, beautiful sets and costumes, you won’t want to miss this truly memorable performance opportunity.
Artistic Directors Victor and Tatiana Kasatsky are recipients of the Teacher Recognition Certificate from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. They have won numerous Outstanding School/Outstanding Teacher awards at regional Youth American Grand Prix (YAGP) competitions and have personally shared the stage with great dancers such as Natalya Makarova, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Maya Plisetzkaya, NadejdaPavlova, and Vladimir Malakhov. They have also worked with world famous choreographers such as Pierre Lacotte and Alberto Alonso, and danced pieces choreographed by Roland Petit and George Balanchine.
Many of their students have excelled in ballet competitions and been awarded scholarships and/or accepted at prestigious companies around the US and Europe, a testament to Victor and Tatiana’s passion and success at developing promising young dancers.
